Ben Taub Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine Global Mental Health Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship 

Job Purpose

Recruitment for this track has begun for an immediate opening.   Ben Taub Hospital (BTH) serves the needs of Houston/Harris County residents and is staffed by Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) professionals. BTH provides inpatient and outpatient services for medically indigent and psychiatric-ally impaired persons. One full-time postdoctoral fellowship positions will be offered for the BTH/BCM Global Mental Health Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship. This fellowship involves work with children and adults and has two primary foci: 1) training in the identification, treatment, and advocacy of victims of human trafficking (HT), 2) outpatient psychotherapy services for immigrants, refugees, and survivors of trauma. We are recruiting one postdoctoral fellow with expertise in trauma, abuse, and/or human trafficking, who has particular interests in working with child and adult patients from diverse and marginalized backgrounds, has exceptional clinical and research skills, and has a strong interest in evidenced-based practice.

Job Duties
  • Involved in activities that may include treatment, case conceptualization, and clinical research under the guidance of faculty who serve as clinical and/or research supervisors.
  • The individual is involved in activities that may include treatment, case conceptualization, and clinical research.
Minimum Qualifications


  • Required: PhD or PsyD from an accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Required: Completion of an APA-accredited predoctoral internship  no more than five years prior to the initial appointment date.


  • Required: Experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting.
  • Required: Experience administering psychological test batteries, including projective measures.
