The Renal Pediatrics Genetics laboratory is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to join its research group focused on the genetics and genomics of the human kidney. This is an opportunity for a self-motivated individual to participate in cutting edge research.

Job Responsibilties
  • Performs molecular genetics techniques
  • Participates in analysis of genomic data
  • Maintains database and record keeping
  • Assists with research under the guidance of the PI, prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments, collects, compiles and analyzes data, documents results of experiments.
  • Prepares and writes manuscripts
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Ph.D in Genetics or a related field


  • Strong background in genetics/biology, including gene expression/PCR, DNA isolation, plasmid isolation, etc.
  • Experience in aseptic cell and tissue culture techniques
  • Able to read and understand laboratory methods
  • Highly responsible, dedicated to science and problem solving
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational skills, prioritize task completion to meet schedules and deadlines as assigned
  • Ability to maintain detailed laboratory records
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Enjoy learning new technologies and assays
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Prior experience with laboratory rodents is desirable
