Summary
Baylor college of Medicine Neurocritical care section of the department of neurology is hiring a post-doctoral fellow to support research related to neuromonitoring and imaging. The ideal candidate should have an MD (or equivalent) or a PhD related to human physiology. Postdoctoral research fellows are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific/medical professional.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
- Maintains laboratory operations.
- Supervises research staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
The candidate should also demonstrate experience or willingness to learn the following skills:
- Ultrasound imaging
- Transcranial doppler
- Recording and analyzing biological data using powerlab, Moberg, ICM+, or similar software and hardware.
- Database development and management using Redcap or similar software.
- Statistical analysis
- Institutional review board applications
- Scientific writing including grant development and manuscript writing
