Job Title:  Postdoctoral Fellow PhD
Division:  Molecular and Human Genetics

Salary Range:  Hiring up to $62,232
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Summary

The postdoctoral fellow will design and execute experiments, as well as interpret the results. They will be responsible for summarizing the findings in the form of presentations and manuscripts. Another key responsibility will be to coordinate the project with two collaborating laboratories.

Job Duties

  • Conducts experimental design: reads relevant literature, constructs project-related mutants, and performs experiments including amplicon sequencing, microscopy, Southern blotting, and other techniques.
  • Conducts result interpretation: collects sequencing data, analyzes sequencing reads in collaboration with others, and summarize the results.
  • Conducts manuscript preparation: drafts manuscripts, submits them for publication, and revises based on feedback. 
  • Coordinates the project with two collaborating labs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience handling yeast cells, constructing mutant strains, and using CRISPR/Cas9 methods to induce point mutations.
  • Experience in molecular genetics, molecular biology, and deep sequencing is required.
