Our laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and responsible Postdoctoral Associate. The primary focus of the lab is exploring the mechanism of the molecular and cellular events of vascular diseases in metabolic condition. Specifically, the vascular remodeling and artery calcification will be investigated from this NIH supported project. Animal models for chronic kidney disease or diabetic mice will be performed to mimic human relevant diseases. The Postdoctoral fellow is required to catch the newest scientific information and design approaches to archive the goal. 

Job Duties

  • Design and conduct experiments in a controlled laboratory setting.
  • Perform experiments, collect, analyze and report data. 
  • Conduct cell culture experiments as needed.
  • Collect, analyze and appropriately document experimental results.
  • Conduct molecular assays such as real time RT-PCR, genotyping, Western blotting etc.
  • Responsible for breeding and maintaining mouse colonies and PCR-genotype.
  • Conduct animal models and single cell sequence.
  • Conduct experimental techniques such as  electrophoresis, centrifugation, and primary cell culture. 
  • Perform a variety of routine experimental techniques such as electrophoresis, centrifugation, primary cell culture.
  • Capability to design experiments and data analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Molecular Biology preferred or experience in molecular biology and sequence data analysis
  • Experience in animal handling or model 
  • Candidates that have animal model experience in vascular diseases
