A Postdoctoral Associate position in cancer immunotherapy is available at the Center for Advanced Innate Cell Therapy within the Texas Children' s Cancer Center. The project is funded by a recently awarded major grant from the US Department of Defense aiming to develop and clinically test novel CAR-redirected immunotherapy for pediatric solid tumors. We offer outstanding state-of-the-art, recently expanded laboratory facilities and a highly interactive environment for basic, translational, and clinical investigators. Ideal candidates will have have a PhD degree and an expertise in tumor immunology with a documented record of productivity.


Job Duties

  • Design and conduct the experiments related to the project with the help of the mentor and other team members of the Metelitsa Lab.
  • Analyze the data and present the evolving results at weekly laboratory meetings and research seminars of the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy.
  • Document the details of the experiments and the findings in electronic laboratory notebook.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in immunology, genetic engineering or related fields.
  • Great fund of knowledge of tumor immunology principles.
  • Understanding basic genetic engineering techniques (transfection, retroviral / lentiviral transduction, transposition, CRISPR-Cas9).
