Summary

We are seeking a talented, highly motivated researcher to join the laboratory of Dr. Pengfei Liu in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. The long-term goals of the Liu lab are to (1) translate genomics to clinical diagnostics, and to (2) use resources from rare diseases to develop models to elucidate the genetic basis of human disease.


We are interested in applicants with diverse research experience, but are particularly interested in applicants with a PhD or MD/PhD in human genetics and cell biology. Experience with clinical genetics data analysis, WGS, RNAseq, genome editing, and iPSC engineering is preferred. 

 

Candidates should be enthusiastic about collaborative and interdisciplinary research, be highly motivated to develop as an independent scientist, have a strong work-ethic and demonstrate excellent scientific and English communication skills.

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals. 
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • May supervise research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.
