The Mysorekar lab has opportunities for newly graduated Ph.D. students who seek advanced postdoctoral training in reproductive biology/immunology, viral infections in pregnancy are welcome to apply for this position. These studies involve understanding the impact of SARS COV2, or Zika virus infection on pregnancy. Using mouse models, cell culture models, 3D organoid cultures, and placental tissues, we take a variety of approaches to understand viral pathogenesis in an exciting new program researching the immunity at the maternal-fetal interface.

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs, and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments under the mentorship and guidance of Dr. Indira Mysorekar.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data .
  • Establishes new research protocols and procedures pertinent to the projects.
  • Summarizes research findings and publishes results in research journals.
  • Will be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • Have the opportunity to supervise junior graduate students or undergraduates in the lab.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • We particularly encourage a background in molecular and cell biology, experience in mouse studies, tissue culture.
  • Background in immunology is preferred.
