A position is available in the Heaney lab, which uses genetically engineered mouse models to characterize the developmental origins and genetic risk factors of testicular germ cell tumors and male infertility. Applicants with first-author publications and experience in mouse genetics, germ cell biology, RNA sequencing approaches, molecular biology, and/or microscopy are preferred. Applicants should be enthusiastic about collaborative and interdisciplinary research, be motivated to develop as an independent scientist, and demonstrate excellent scientific communication skills.

Job Duties

• Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
• Evaluates and analyzes data.
• May establish new research protocols and procedures.
• Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals. 
• Assists with mouse colony maintenance.
• Coordinates studies with core facilities.
• May supervise research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with mouse models.
