The Postdoctoral Associate will function independently in a fast pace research laboratory. Dr. Man’s lab focuses on pediatric bone cancer research to identify clinically applicable biomarkers and therapeutic targets to improve the outcome of children with bone cancer. The Postdoctoral Associate will be involved in cutting-edge research on understanding cytokine/chemokine signaling in bone cancer.

Job Duties

  • Carry out independent research in the field of pediatric oncology, and will design, develop, and troubleshoot research experiments to achieve research goals.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and organize research data.
  • Prepare manuscript for publications in scientific journals, assist in grant applications, attend and present in lab meetings, conferences and seminars.
  • Assist in lab management, including supervision of junior trainees, maintenance of lab, stocks, and equipment, and ordering supplies. 
  • Utilize experimental techniques: tumor xenograft mouse models, cell culture and In vitro assays, CRISPR-Cas9 mutant construction, Luminex platform, and tissue microarrays

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in biomedical science or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in bioinformatics (e.g. sequence analysis and RNAseq analysis) and a record of high-impact publications are highly preferred.
  • Two or more years of relevant postgraduate experience in a research environment working with tumor xenograft mouse models, cell culture, in vitro assays, CRISPR-Cas9 mutant construction, Luminex platform, and tissue microarrays.
