Job Purpose

A postdoctoral associate position that will investigate the multi-regional circuits involved in decision-making. Our group recently discovered identified brain regions in the frontal cortex, basal ganglia, midbrain, thalamus, and the cerebellum form multi-regional loops that are critically involved in cognitive functions such as motor planning and short-term memory. Using the mouse model, the postdoctoral associate will investigate the neural circuit mechanisms of decision-making behaviors in mice. Specific research duties include:

Job Duties
  • Use optogenetics and quantitative behaviors to identify cortical and striatal regions involved in decision-making.
  • Use electrophysiology and 2-photon imaging to investigate the cortico-striatal circuits during cognitive behaviors.
  • Analyze cell types and their contributions to decision-making behavior.
  • Analyze behavioral and electrophysiology data.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: MD or Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • Experience Required: None Required.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Neuroscience.
  • 1 year postdoctoral experience.
