Job Purpose

Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.

Job Duties

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Hongjie Li in the Huffington Center on Aging and Department of Molecular and Human Genetics. Hongjie Li has developed the first single-cell RNA-seq platform for Drosophila neurons and glia (Li et al., Cell 2017, Current Biology 2020), and now is co-leading the Fly Cell Atlas project - targeting to get the transcriptomic map of the entire fly. Hongjie Li's group will continue developing and applying multi-omics technologies (transcriptomics, epigenomics, and proteomics), and combine them with powerful fly genetic tools to study development, brain aging, and age-related diseases (https://hongjielilab.org/).

• Data analysis for transcriptomic, epigenomic, and proteomic data
• Develop single-cell sequencing technologies
• Perform Drosophila genetics experiments 
• Develop research projects on brain aging or age-related cancer
• Write and publish findings 
• Conduct collaborative projects

Successful applicants should have expertise in bioinformatics, or single-cell sequencing, or proteomics, or Drosophila genetics, or mouse cancer model.
