Job Purpose

Postdoctoral Associates are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional. The Postdoc will assist the supervisor in translation of innovations from engineering to various clinical applications. Specifically, he/she will contribute in developing and translation of wearable and digital health technologies to quantify mobility and empower patients or their caregivers to be effectively engaged in health ecosystem.


The Postdoc is responsible for assisting faculties at the Baylor College of Medicine, interdisciplinary Consortium for Advanced Motion Performance (iCAMP) with the preparation of medical/health grant applications to federal and non-profit agencies. He/she will benefit from an excellent interdisciplinary environment at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Medical Center with interdisciplinary collaboration with other institutions including Rice, VA Houston, and MD Anderson. May also contribute in promoting population health and well-being and transform personalized care and smart care delivery across patient population.


Job Duties
  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Assists with collection of clinical and investigational human performance assessments within iCAMP and worldwide Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • May supervise research staff.
  • May contribute in grant writing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • Experience Required: None Required.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: None Required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Computer Science, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Electrical engineering, Biomedical engineering, Mechanical engineering or related fields before job starts.
  • Programming skill using Matlab.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in computer programing.
  • Experience in designing mobile applications, and/or designing games are preferable but not necessary.
  • Experience in wearable or digital health technologies is a plus.
  • Experience in signal processing is a plus.
  • Ability to travel including international travel.
  • Excellent scientific writing skills.
