FLSA Status:  Exempt
Requisition ID:  2833
Job Purpose

The Jankowsky lab seeks a postdoctoral fellow to pursue how aging influences the brain's response to the neurological insult of amyloid formation at the circuit, cellular, and behavioral levels.  We have created temporally-controlled transgenic mouse models that form the basis for this study to experimentally dictate disease onset.  We seek a motivated candidate who is intellectually and experimentally flexible enough to advance this and several related projects simultaneously.  Researchers will work as part of a team combining mouse genetic engineering, viral circuit manipulation, hippocampal slice electrophysiology, and basic biochemistry to elucidate the complex interaction between genetics, aging, and cognitive health.

Job Duties

•    Designs and conducts research experiments.
•    Selects and determines appropriate research procedures.
•    Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
•    Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
