Summary

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Meenakshi Hegde in the Department of Pediatrics Hematology-Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Cancer Center at Texas Children's Hospital, Houston, Texas. The Postdoctoral Associate will be part of a research team consisting of medical professionals, scientists and technicians experimenting on novel immune based therapies for treating cancer. The Postdoctoral Associate will function at the postdoctoral level of complexity that requires expert knowledge on immunology and cancer as well as skilled expertise in molecular biology, cell culture, animal surgery and immunology techniques. The research will focus on developing and optimizing novel gene modified T-cells against solid tumors through introduction of Chimeric Antigen receptors (CARs) and checkpoint reversal receptors. The Postdoctoral Associate will build on the results of our laboratory's ongoing clinical trials to design and develop highly-innovative and specific gene modified T-cells and test them in relevant pre-clinical models of the disease. The Postdoctoral Associate will also contribute towards the immune correlates studies for ongoing clinical trial.
