Job Duties

Postdoctoral position to study reproduction through live imaging

A postdoctoral position is available in Larina Lab in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX to investigate reproduction and early development through live imaging. 

The applicant must hold PhD degree in biological sciences and possess a comprehensive understanding of reproductive physiology, genetics, and molecular biology. Experience working with mouse or other mammalian models is required. Expertise in optical imaging and signal/image processing is highly desired. The candidate should have strong publication record, good communication and writing skills, exceptional work ethics, and great attention to details.

We are a dynamic highly collaborative team of optical engineers and biologists, investigating biomechanical aspects of biological processes in mouse models of human disorders. Our studies bring together optical system design, OCT, confocal/multiphoton microscopy, optogenetics, technology development in functional optical imaging and data processing (4D angiography, cilia beat mapping, cardiodynamic analysis, elastography), vital fluorescent reporters, genetic mouse models of human disorders, developmental and reproductive biology questions. Positioned in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world, the lab takes advantage of unprecedented resources and cross-disciplinary collaborations.
