Job Purpose

A postdoctoral position is now open in the laboratory group of Dr. John P. Lydon, Department of Molecular Biology, Baylor College of Medicine. The Lydon group's overall research interest is to identify and characterize key molecular signals that are critical for sex steroid hormone regulation of uterine biology during the peri-implantation period.  Our group uses state-of-the-art mouse models, advanced cell culture systems, and powerful genome-wide analytics in our investigative studies, with an emphasis also on parallel collaborations with our clinical colleagues in reproductive medicine.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • May supervise research staff.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

Experience: None required.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with a strong background in the following areas are encouraged to apply: mammalian reproduction (particularly uterine biology), mouse handling skills, and modern statistical approaches/bioinformatics.  Also expertise in basic biology skills (molecular cloning, isolation and analysis of protein, DNA and RNA and cell culture) is preferred.
