Job Purpose

The Aortic Disease Research Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral associate to study the molecular mechanisms of vascular injury, repair and remodeling during the development of aortic aneurysms and dissections. We use different techniques in molecular biology, cell biology and vascular biology in our investigations and this is currently for a project targeting Mitochondrial Damaged-Induced Necroptotic Cell Death in Sporadic Ascending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms and Dissections.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • May supervise research staff.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

Experience: None required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: 3 to 4 years' experience in molecular biology or cardiovascular research.
