Title: Postdoctoral Associate
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Fellow with a strong background in bioinformatics and a keen interest in single-cell omics. The selected candidate will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary research team dedicated to advancing our understanding of neurological diseases at the single-cell level.
Job Duties
- Leads and contributes to the development and application of computational methods for the analysis and integration of single-cell omics data, including single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and other emerging technologies.
- Collaborates with experimental biologists to design single-cell experiments, interpret findings, and generate novel biological insights.
- Develops robust pipelines for the preprocessing, quality control, and analysis of single-cell omics data.
- Contributes to the writing and preparation of research papers, grant applications, and presentations for both scientific and lay audiences.
- Maintains an active role in the academic community by attending and presenting at relevant conferences, workshops, and seminars.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in R and/or Python, and familiarity with bioinformatics tools, databases, and resources.
- Proven experience with single-cell omics data analysis and a good understanding of underlying molecular biology principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex scientific ideas to a diverse audience.
- Experience with machine learning and/or statistical modeling.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing environments and cloud computing platforms.
- Previous experience in mentoring students or junior staff members is a plus.
