Salary Range:  Hiring up to $62,232
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

A postdoctoral position in biology is available in the Mingxing Teng laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. The position is focused on the discovery and characterization of small-molecule protein degraders. This position offers up to five years of support, based on performance. Candidates with a proven track record in chemical biology, molecular cell biology or structural biology are expected to work with the team to push the boundaries of basic research.

Job Duties

  • Complies with the intellectual property compliance requirements of the institute and laboratory.
  • Demonstrates honesty with any raw experimental data.
  • Performs research including but not limited to cell culture, biochemical and cell-based assays, genetic engineering, murine modeling of cancer.
  • Designs advanced experiments and executing protocols.
  • Documents and presents experimental results in a professional manner.
  • Contributes to the development of a laboratory culture that emphasizes urgency and scientific excellence. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proactively helps the team succeed.
  • Takes ownership of team-based tasks.
  • Organized with close attention to detail and strong time management skills.
