Salary Range:  Hiring up to $85,000
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

Postdoctoral Associate position in the Laboratory of Hyun Kyoung Lee, Department of Pediatrics-Neurology, Baylor College of Medicine/Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, Texas Children’s Hospital.

 

Immediate position available at the level of Postdoctoral Associate to study the mechanisms underlying astrocyte-tumor interactions. The focus of the lab is to identify the novel molecular signaling pathways and regulation in glial cell development and associated disorders using molecular, cellular, physiological, and neurobehavioral approaches. 

Job Duties

  • Designs and conducts histology and imaging analysis in animal models.
  • Uses computational tools (R, Python, BLAST) for data analysis.
  • Writes research papers for peer-reviewed journals.
  • Presents findings at scientific conferences.
  • Trains undergraduate students and research technicians in laboratory techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills are required, and the candidate must work effectively in a team environment. The candidate will also be expected to participate in research grant preparation, manuscript writing and presentation of research results at professional conferences.
