Summary
The Postdoctoral Associate will work in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for an independent career in biomedical research. The position focuses on the molecular, cellular, and metabolic mechanisms that drive vascular calcification and vascular remodeling using mouse models, primary vascular cells, and translational tissue-based studies. The Postdoctoral Associate will contribute intellectually and experimentally to research projects while developing scientific independence through publications, presentations, and collaborative research. This position provides advanced training in experimental vascular biology, manuscript development, grant-oriented project design, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The Postdoctoral Associate is expected to publish high-impact research and develop the skills necessary for an independent biomedical research career.

Job Duties
- Plans, directs, and conducts advanced research experiments related to vascular calcification and cardiovascular disease mechanisms.
- Performs mouse studies that includes tissue collection, histology, immunostaining, and lesion analysis.
- Conducts cell and molecular biology experiments using vascular smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, macrophages, and related cell types.
- Performs cell culture, qPCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, imaging, metabolic assays, and signaling studies.
- Analyzes and interprets data, maintains research records, prepares figures, and develops new laboratory protocols.
- Prepares manuscripts, publishes findings, presents research, and assist with laboratory operations, regulatory documentation, inventory, and mentoring junior personnel.
- Supports vascular biology and cardiovascular disease research projects.
- Collaborates with faculty and laboratory personnel.
- Participates in multidisciplinary research initiatives.
- Maintains laboratory compliance, and contribute to grant-supported research activities.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in vascular biology, cardiovascular science, cell biology, molecular biology, physiology, or a related field.
- Experience with vascular cell culture, mouse models, histology, microscopy, molecular biology, metabolic studies, omics approaches, and/or bioinformatics is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are expected.
