Summary

Dr. Putluri's lab is applying mass spectrometry technology to study metabolic profiling studies in cancer development and progression. The lab has established a robust research program in bladder cancer research. Particularly, has characterized metabolic alterations associated with smoking in bladder cancer, health disparity and defined a role xenobiotic metabolism in bladder cancer progression. The lab uses a variety of pre-clinical models that includes cancer cell lines, Organoid cultures, patient-derived xenografts (PDXs), and genetically engineered mouse models (GEMM). The lab is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate, who is interested in translational tumor research.

Job Duties

  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data.
  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collaborates with scientists out of the lab for multidisciplinary study.
  • Develops new models and techniques to support the cancer-related research in the lab.
  • Operates all the mass spectrometry instrumentation needed for the projects (training will be provided as needed).
  • Documents experimental procedures in precise details.
  • Collects and compiles imaging data.
  • Assists in day-to-day operation of running scientific research lab.
  • Attends lab meetings.
  • Studies epigenetic mechanisms using in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models.
  • Conducts independent research in the field of cancer metabolism.
  • Focuses on cancer metabolism and tumorigenesis.
  • Works in the lab that involves a combination of metabolomics, genomics, epigenomics, shRNA KD, CRISPR-gene editing approaches, over expression and a variety of model systems including cell line, organoids, mice and PDXs.
