Summary
The postdoctoral fellow candidate will design, organize, and perform experiments associated with project investigating neuromodulation and feeding. The postdoctoral candidate will also be responsible for collecting data, interpreting, and communicationg all results to the PI and laboratory. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for leading the writing and publication of data in primary manuscripts.
Job Duties
- Conducts Experimental Design: Keeps up with relevant and current literature, demonstrates knowledge and expertise in current cell type-specific genetic methodologies, exhibits proficeincy with survival surgeries in mice, demonstrates expertise in metabolic and/or physiological analysis in living mice.
- Conducts Results Interpretation: Collects and analyzes metabolic, physiological, and imaging data, as well as demonstrates accurate data and results documentation.
- Conducts Manuscript Preparation: Drafts manuscripts, submits them for publication, and revises based on feedback.
- Attends departmental scientific seminars and retreats.
- Represents the lab in trainee seminar series by delivering project related talks.
- Assists with overseeing rotation student projects.
- Serves as an organizer and liason between collaborating labs.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a background in metabolism, feeding, and/or nutrition, and demonstrate the ability to both work independently and collaborate well with others.
