Summary

A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Prasad's lab at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, to study the structural biology of viruses and viral proteins using a combination of biochemical techniques, X-ray crystallography, cryoEM, and cryoET techniques, focusing on mechanisms underlying the virus entry, antibody neutralization, replication, morphogenesis, and pathogenesis. 

Job Duties

• Performs the biochemical and functional characterization of the specimens and all aspects of structure determination using CryoEM/ET techniques. 

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in protein expression and purification, enzyme kinetics, drug design, X-ray crystallography, single-particle cryoEM, and computational biology.
• The selected candidate is expected to have good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
