Summary

Dr. Wei Li’s laboratory at Department of Ophthalmology, Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Associate. Our translational research focuses on ligandomics, a new omics technology engineered by our group, for drug target discovery and novel therapy development to treat ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and retinopathy of prematurity. This postdoc position is to investigate neurovascular regulations in glaucoma. Specifically, glaucoma-selective neurotrophic factors identified by ligandomics will be functionally validated for their disease selectivity, binding specificity, functional activity, pathogenic role and therapeutic potential using various biochemical, cellular and molecular approaches. Our ultimate goal is to develop novel, effective neuroprotective therapies for glaucoma and other neurodegenerative diseases.
