Job Title:  Postdoctoral Associate- Surgical Oncology

Salary Range:  Up to $62,232
FLSA Status:  Exempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

The Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Associate with a strong background in cancer biology and/or molecular biology. These skills would be applied in translational research on examining novel therapeutic strategies, mechanisms of therapeutic resistance and tumor biology.

 

 

The postdoctoral associate is expected to take a strong lead in ongoing research projects in the laboratory and support the research efforts of the research team (staff, post-doctoral scholars and graduate students). They will interact directly with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, surgeons, pathologists, chemists, and biologists to fulfill the aims of the research projects.

Job Duties

  • Works within a dynamic multidisciplinary group.
  • Plans, directs and conducts research experiments, analyzes data and presents findings at lab meetings.
  • Contributes to manuscript preparation and publishs research findings in peer reviewed journals.
  • Assists with preparation of grant proposal and progress reports.
  • Assists in training and mentoring of research staff, and day-to-day lab management and organization.
  • Performs standard bioinformatic and statistical analyses on large datasets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology or a related field

• Experience in mammalian cell culture and in studying cell signaling pathways

• Experience in working with animals (including performing surgery).

• Experience in analyses of genomic and proteomic data sets is preferred but not required.

• Self-motivated, with an ability to drive projects forward to meet deadlines.
