Title: Postdoctoral Associate - Molecular Neuroscience and Disease
Summary
A Postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr. Melanie Samuel at Baylor College of Medicine in the field of neurodevelopment and neural disease.
You will help aid in project management, help lead intergroup teams toward completion of assigned goals, design and conduct proper validation and controls for research.
As a member of the lab you would direct your own research project. This includes designing research experiments, evaluating and analyzing data, developing and validating new protocols, reading and evaluating the literature, writing papers, and contributing to grant writing.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- May establish new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
- May be responsible for laboratory operations.
- May supervise research staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates should hold PhD degree in Neuroscience, Genetics, Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field or have equivalent education and work experience.
