Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join an interdisciplinary research team investigating how the brain acquires, metabolizes, and distributes lipids, and how imbalances in lipid homeostasis contribute to neurodegenerative diseases and pediatric brain tumors. The laboratory integrates chemical biology, analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry–based omics, advanced imaging, and in vivo models to define the fundamental mechanisms governing brain lipid metabolism.

Job Duties
- Plans, directs, and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
- Evaluates, analyzes, and presents data.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publishes results in research journals.
- Supervises and trains research staff and students.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related field.
- Post docotoral Assocaite less than 3 year from date of Ph.D. conferral date.
- Expertise in mass spectrometry, chemical proteomics or lipidomics, sample preparation and data processing.
- Experience in integrating mass spectrometry–based datasets with sequencing data to derive biologically meaningful insights.
