A postdoctoral fellowship position is open for qualified candidates interested in developing novel engineered T-cell therapies for incurable pediatric leukemias. The project involves developing rationally designed constructs in CAR T-cells and evaluating their activity in preclinical models of myeloid leukemia, including patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mouse models. The final goal of the project is clinical translation and evaluation of selected platforms in patients with treatment-refractory leukemias. Candidates must have an advanced degree (PhD or MD) and a background in cell biology. Expertise in immunology and mouse models of human diseases is preferred. 

Job Duties

  • Develop and evaluate engineered T-cells in preclinical models of pediatric leukemia in vitro and in mouse xenograft models. 
  • Assist with preparation and writing of reports, papers, and meeting abstracts. 
  • Assist with preparing and writing grant applications and participate in internal collaborations. 
  • Plan, direct and conduct specialized and advanced research experiments. 
  • Evaluate and analyze data.
  • Keep a log of detailed experimental records. 
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures. 
  • Summarize research findings to publish results in research journals and present in scientific meetings. 
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations. 
  • May supervise research staff. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with cell biology
