A Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Biochemistry is available at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate is expected to have expertise and a track record of publications in Biochemistry, assay development and/or compound screening. Job Duties

  • Performs essential biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, including:
    • cloning/plasmid construction,
    • recombinant protein expression/purification,
    • biochemical assay development (UV, fluorescence, ITC, etc).
  • Expresses biologically important proteins. 
  • Develops biochemical assays to determine activity. 
  • Screens compounds for novel small-molecule inhibitors, which is part of ongoing drug discovery programs in the PI’s lab.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, molecule biology or other related fields.
