Summary

The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking to recruit a Chief of Division of Adult Plastic Surgery at the associate professor or professor rank. Candidates should possess superb leadership skills, exceptional clinical expertise in hand and reconstructive surgery (breast) and lymphedema, and a record of accomplishment of advancing education and innovative research at the national level. Successful candidates will provide leadership and strategic oversight of as highly skilled team of clinicians. 

 

The 230 members of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, ranked 13th by the U.S. News & World Report for departments of surgery, practice at iconic Baylor-affiliated institutions across the Texas Medical Center including Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, part of Common Spirit Health, the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Harris Health Ben Taub Hospital, and Texas Children's Hospital. The Department trains over 130 residents and fellows annually, including trainees in the only NRMP-listed residency track in global surgery. Our department Office of Surgical Research comprised of over 70 research specialists manage over 350 grants and active clinical studies supported by over $20 million in extramural funding. 

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D degree, be board certified in general surgery and maintain a valid Texas Medical License. Candidate must be eligible to obtain hospital privileges at BCM affiliated facilities. Drug testing/background check is required prior to start.
