Summary

The Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine is offering a six month clinical preceptorship training for APP's (Advanced Practice Providers) in men's health, sexual medicine, and urology. Baylor College of Medicine is looking for a dynamic Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to work collaboratively with our Men's Health/Urology team to provide care to patients in our outpatient clinic. The preceptorship will provide a remarkable opportunity for APP's to gain competence in providing care for patients with hypogonadism, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie's disease, orgasmic disorders, infertility, and associated urological conditions. Clinical training will be conducted at McNair Campus in the Texas Medical Center. The curriculum is comprised of both clinical and didactic education components.

 

Preceptorship is 3 months in person and 3 months online. The preceptee will be paid.

 

Applicants do not require an active license, but they must have graduated from a PA or NP program and passed their board examination.

Job Duties

  • Obtains detailed history and perform physical examinations.
  • Performs, orders, and interprets diagnostic procedures in accordance with relevant health concerns of the patient.
  • Prescribes appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
  • Maintains records and write orders and progress notes in patient charts as to status, treatments, and procedures.
  • Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records.
  • Provides follow-up health maintenance care to patients in accordance with protocols established with the supervising physician.
  • Communicates with physicians, patients, and the family members of patients concerning patient care.
  • Collaborates with providers, and practice staff in identifying appropriate patients for care management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or completion of the applicable education/training program.
  • May require licensure or certification in related field.
