Summary
MFM duties:
Inpatient MFM service, clinic, and ultrasound coverage. Ultrasound coverage would include fetal anomalies radiology, US neurosonology, and establishing a first-trimester ultrasound program. Call the MFM service at Pavilion for Women. A primary goal of this role would be to lead the development of our first trimester ultrasound program and mentor junior MFMs in this program.
FI duties:
One call weekend a month, during which you would round on the fetal intervention patients, take patient phone calls, and perform FI procedures.
Outside of the clinical time as noted above, we would like to offer FI coverage of our Austin site on administrative/research days, which would include travel to Austin to assist the FI physician with fetal intervention cases. This is coverage currently shared by all faculty of the Houston Fetal Intervention Division. The new members of the MFM and FI divisions always undergo a period of orientation with the partner faculty. In the FI division, this period also serves as a trial period, during which new members work alongside other division members. This process evaluates the surgical and technical experience of new members and orients them to our surgical teams, instruments, and techniques. Ongoing involvement in fetal intervention surgeries will be contingent on the outcomes of this trial period.
Minimum qualifications: M.D. degree.
