Summary
The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine, in partnership with Texas Children's Hospital, is seeking a highly motivated PhD or PT/PhD-level researcher for a full-time, research-focused position in TCH Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, dedicated to advancing pediatric rehabilitation. This role will lead efforts to expand our understanding and application of pediatric rehabilitation interventions while playing a key role in establishing a new pediatric rehabilitation research initiative. The successful candidate will 1) conduct independent research, 2) collaborate closely with physician-scientists and clinicians in the department, and 3) help lay the groundwork for building a research rehabilitation institute, driving innovation and improving outcomes for pediatric patients.
Job Duties
- Research Design and Implementation (40%)
Design, implement, and conduct independent and collaborative research studies in pediatric rehabilitation. - Data Analysis and Dissemination (20%)
Analyze and interpret research data and disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and other scholarly activities. - Grant Writing and Funding (15%)
Lead and participate in grant writing efforts to secure funding for research projects. - Collaboration and Translational Work (10%)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians, scientists, and educators, to translate research findings into practice. - Mentorship and Supervision (10%)
Mentor and supervise graduate students, research assistants, and trainees involved in pediatric rehabilitation research. - Professional Engagement (5%)
Maintain active engagement with the scientific community through professional organizations and research networks.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: PhD in Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, or a related field. Additional PT degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Record of research productivity (publications, grants).
-Experience in pediatric rehabilitation research or related clinical practice.
-Effective communicator and collaborative team member.
