Summary

Serves as Pharmacist to supervise the 7th floor Baylor Medicine Outpatient Pharmacy on the McNair Campus.  Ensures accuracy in dispensing drugs and supplies, completing documentation and records, assisting clinicians with drug treatment plans and service as a resource for pharmaceutical issues.
Directs the daily activities of the pharmacy staff and manages operational, training and personnel issues.  Oversees the mixing operations, staffing, sterility, safety and accuracy of medications dispensed.

Job Duties

  • Serves as Pharmacist to supervise the 7th floor Baylor Medicine Pharmacy on the McNair campus.
  • Ensures accuracy in dispensing drugs and supplies, completing documentation and records, assisting clinicians with drug treatment plans and service as a resource for pharmaceutical issues.
  • Directs the daily activities of the pharmacy staff and manages operational, training and personnel issues.
  • Oversees the mixing operations, staffing, sterility, safety and accuracy of medications dispensed.
  • Serves as the lead investigational drug service pharmacist. Oversees all research activities to include publishing findings in professional journals.
  • Keep the pharmacy's policies, procedures and state license up to date.
  • Manages the lead investigational drug service pharmacist once the research pharmacist is in place to support the clinical research programs at Baylor.
  • Responsible for coordinating the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, compounding, monitoring, control and dispensing of medications and supplies.
  • Represents the pharmacy department during meetings with leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pharm.D. degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Three years of relevant experience with a minimum of one year supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting.
  • Current licensure from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior medical infusion experience.
  • Experience in clinical research.
  • Prior experience in an academic environment.
