Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a full time Psychologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Psychology Division, Department of Pediatrics. The psychologist in this position will join a multidisciplinary Consult/Liaison team to provide evaluation and intervention services to children and adolescents in inpatient medical areas at Texas Children's Hospital. The psychologist will consult on a diverse population of inpatients in medical beds with acute psychiatric needs including trauma, suicidal ideation/attempt, severe anxiety/OCD, and behavioral disruption occurring within the context of a psychiatric diagnosis.This psychologist may also provide consultation and intervention to inpatients with a primary medical diagnosis who are admitted to services without embedded psychology. Consultation with medical providers and close collaboration with members of multidisciplinary medical teams will be expected for this position, as well as participation in the development of clinical programs.


This psychologist will join a team that includes more than 40 pediatric, clinical, and neuropsychologists practicing across subspecialty areas at Texas Children's Hospital, providing care in both the inpatient and outpatient environments. This is an open-rank clinician-educator position. However, all faculty members are expected to contribute to the College's academic mission, and both independent and collaborative research/scholarship opportunities are available through partnership with other Section members, as well as our subspecialty partners. 


BCM is also home to outstanding psychology training programs at the graduate, internship, and postdoctoral levels. Clinical services are provided within the Psychology Service at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH), the largest children's hospital in the United States and the primary teaching/training center for the Baylor College of Medicine's (BCM) Department of Pediatrics. TCH is consistently designated by U.S. News and World Report in for Honor Roll status in pediatrics, currently ranking 4th overall, and it is situated in Houston, one of the most diverse and dynamic cities in the country.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates for the position will have obtained a doctorate in clinical, counseling, or school psychology with a specialization in pediatric or child clinical psychology and will have completed both an APA-accredited psychology internship and postdoctoral training in pediatric or clinical psychology. The candidate must also be licensed/license-eligible in Texas.
