Developmental therapeutics Advanced Practice Provider - Instructor-NP or PA


Scope of practice:


This position is designed to primarily work with the multidisciplinary Developmental Therapeutics program.




  • Direct patient care of children with recurrent or refractory cancers who are enrolled on clinical trials of new investigational agents.
  • Patient and family education, as well as staff education
  • Implementation of research protocols in conjunction with physician leadership is also involved.
  • Potential for some general hematology/oncology outpatient clinical time

Clinical or basic science research opportunities may be available on a case-by-case basis and may be discussed with Section leadership during the application process.


Minimum requirements: 


1) Nurse Practitioner with Acute Care certification or Physician Assistant degree.

2) Prior to employment start date must obtain appropriate license in the state of Texas and

National Board Certification

3) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

4) Relevant experience is preferred but not required. Comprehensive training will be provided to

the successful candidate.
