Summary

The Baylor College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics/Critical Care at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) is recruiting Assistant/Associate Professor level attending physicians to work in the first of its kind Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) ICU. Located in the newly constructed Legacy Tower of TCH Medical Center, the ACHD ICU opened 1/12/2021 and features 16 state-of-the-art rooms. Our census has exceeded expectations resulting in excellent programmatic growth and the need to add colleagues.

ACHD ICU faculty primarily care for critically ill patients aged 16 and above with CHD. This is a mixture of medical and surgical admissions and includes mechanical circulatory support with ECMO and VAD, heart, and lung transplantation. Additional patients include peri-partum or pregnant women with cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension, or ARDS from our Pavilion for Women and older TCH patients with various conditions. Faculty will supervise learners and APPs in the ICU environment and participate in QI and research projects. Additional roles in the pediatric cardiac ICU or other Baylor College of Medicine ICUs will be considered as appropriate based on the applicant's training path.

Requirements:

Educational requirements for this position include Residency in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine or Pediatrics, and Fellowship training in Adult or Pediatric Critical Care and/or Cardiology, Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine and/or Pediatrics, and Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Adult or Pediatric Critical Care and/or Cardiology.
