Summary
The Associate Professor is an accomplished investigator and educator appointed on a tenure track or tenured faculty line, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This role contributes to discovery, translation, and application of biomedical research in areas aligned with institutional priorities, including pediatric and women's health. Faculty are expected to sustain an independent, externally funded research program, demonstrate scholarly excellence, and actively participate in education, mentorship, and service.

Job Duties
- Lead and maintain an independent research program in basic, translational, or clinical science
- Secure and sustain extramural funding from federal agencies, foundations, and/or industry
- Publish high quality, peer reviewed research demonstrating national or international impact
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams across departments and institutions
- Teach and mentor medical students, graduate students, residents, fellows, and postdoctoral trainees
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic training initiatives, as appropriate
- Provide clinical care and supervise trainees (for MD faculty, based on specialty and role)
- Participate in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities
- Uphold standards of research integrity, compliance, and academic professionalism
Minimum Qualifications
- MD, PhD, or MD/PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) in a relevant field
- Demonstrated record of independent research and scholarly publication
- Evidence of current or prior extramural research funding, or strong potential for funding
- Eligibility for appointment at the Associate Professor level on the tenure track or with tenure
- For MD candidates: eligibility for medical licensure and board certification/eligibility, as applicable
Preferred Qualifications
- Established reputation in an area of scientific or clinical expertise
- Successful mentoring of trainees or junior faculty
- Experience leading multidisciplinary or collaborative research initiatives
- Service or leadership roles in academic or professional organizations
