Summary

Academic General Pediatrics seeks a dynamic MD/DO to join our diverse division at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital as a member of the Texas Children's Mobile Clinic Program (TC-MCP) team.

Preference will be given to those with Academic General Pediatrics Fellowship, other fellowship training, or other advanced degrees, e.g., MPH or MEd.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work well with the mobile clinic team, communicate effectively with patients and their families; have a passion for medical education; and enjoy working with children and adolescents in under-resourced communities.

Job Duties

The main clinical role of this Assistant/Associate Professor position is to see patients and teach medical students/residents on board our free, comprehensive-care, outpatient mobile clinics. The TC-MCP provides high-quality healthcare to under-resourced children in the greater Houston area. With our three medical mobile clinics, we travel into communities (schools, churches, community centers) to care for pediatric patients with limited access to care. In addition to clinical care, this position offers the opportunity to engage in research, advocacy, policy, and educational leadership, with the potential for career advancement through scholarly work. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday with some required evening and weekend duties year-round.

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O., Board-certified or Board-eligible in Pediatrics
  • The applicant must have successfully completed a Pediatric or Med/Peds residency program and ideally at least an additional 2-3 years of clinical experience in pediatrics. Strong recent graduates are still encouraged to apply.
