Summary

Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Psychologist to join the Division of Pediatric Psychology at CHRISTUS Children's. The psychologist will receive an appointment as a full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). This recruit will be supporting our services by seeing patients at The Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan’s Wonderland™, of the MAC, is a center that improves the lives of individuals with disabilities and special needs through comprehensive and coordinated services. https://morganswonderlandmac.com/

 

Our psychologists train residents in Pediatrics and Family Medicine and psychology interns during their clinical rotations in behavioral health. We collaborate with multiple subspecialties on research and program development. Providers receive support for continuing education and professional development. Job Duties

  • Providing psychological evaluation and evidence-based interventions to adolescents seeking services at the outpatient Pediatric Psychology Clinic for common mental health difficulties (anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, eating disorders, etc.) 
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams with pediatric subspecialties serving adolescent population, including surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, GI, rheumatology, neurology, etc. 
  • Participating in creation of new clinics/programs for adolescents 
  • Providing consultation/liaison services to inpatients in collaboration with other psychology team members  
  • Providing crisis management in partnership with other psychology team members

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D) and internship in Clinical or Counseling Psychology at APA-accredited programs. 

  • Licensed or license-eligible in Texas. 

  • At least one year of fellowship and/or equivalent experience in bariatric surgery and eating disorders. Two or more years of experience preferred. 

  • Experience assessing and treating a range of common adolescent mental health conditions in an interdisciplinary medical setting.
