Title:  Patient Insurance Specialist II

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Patient Insurance Specialist  that will  assist  with financially clearing  patients for upcoming scheduled services. 

Job Duties

• Investigates and verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for scheduled services.
• Creates and collects patient out of pocket estimates.
• Financial clear office visits that may involve minor procedures for specialist services.
• Contacts external PCP offices to initiate and secure insurance PCP referral approvals for Baylor specialists.
• Obtains insurance PCP referral approvals on behalf of Baylor PCP's.
• Answers Insurance Verification Helpline calls and emails to resolve insurance questions  from patients and clinical departments.
• Corresponds with insurance companies to review denied services and provide recourse for payment

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Epic experience preferred.
• Multi-Specialty insurance verification experience preferred.
• Pre-service verification experience is preferred.
