Establishes the initial patient-family contact and maintains the continuity of patient rapport.

Job Duties

  • Responds to and assists insurance verification department with patient questions.
  • Obtains benefits, and creates estimates for patient out of pocket for services.
  • Obtains insurance verification and notates in appropriate area in Epic for all services.
  • Contacts patient to collect out of pocket expenses.
  • Contacts leadership regarding missing clinical information required to clear accounts effectively.
  • Contacts PCP offices to obtain referrals.
  • Updates referral statuses and collection efforts in Epic.
  • Answers Insurance Verification Helpline and solves insurance issues for patients, physicians, and departments.
  • Responds to specific account inquiries by management.
  • Creates estimate letters that are electronically forwarded to patients to inform them of their financial responsibility.
  • Investigates insurance coverage and demographics.
  • Answers phones and provides information to patients or takes detailed messages and routes them to the appropriate party.
  • Provides additional administrative support as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
