Title:  Patient Affairs Specialist

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Patient Affairs Specialist to join the team. The ideal candidate will establish the initial patient-family contact and maintain the continuity of patient rapport.

Job Duties

• Investigates and verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for scheduled services.
• Documents detailed benefit verification information.
• Creates estimates and financially counsel patients on amount due.
• Collects patient out of pocket and documents efforts. 
• Contacts external PCP offices to initiate and obtain referrals for Baylor specialists.
• Answers Insurance Verification Helpline calls and emails to resolve insurance issues for patients and clinical departments.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Epic experience preferred.
• Prior Insurance benefit, PCP referral and authorization requirement verification experience preferred
