Patient Business Services is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative II who will become an expert in collecting bad debt from patients. Must have extensive knowledge of billing and collections in order to address more complex questions/issues related to the care provided. Must also be resourceful and be able to work independently in order to be able to effectively collect.  We are looking for an individual who can meet our quality and productivity standards.  After training is complete, able to work hybrid schedule with two days in the office and three days telecommuting.

Job Duties

  • Contacts patients with large bad debt that have an upcoming appointment.
    • Reviews the account to attempt to update insurance, set up a payment plan or collect the dated balance.  
      • Collecting dated balances is part of a College-wide initiative to improve collections.  The PBS will be focused on improving all parts of the revenue cycle in FY23 and this is a key part of our effort. 
  • Recognizes accounts that need additional follow up to ensure balances.
  • Works well the members of the Customer Service team.
  • Works with clinical departmental contacts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer Service experience.
  • Revenue cycle experience.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as function as part of a team.
