Title: Patient Accounts Representative I/Appeals - Denials
Summary
The Patient Accounts Representative I requires an experienced collector that understands AR follow up. The collector should have knowledge of how to appeal a denied claim and check status of a claim by payer website or placing a telephone call to the payer.
Job Duties
• Expedites and maximizes payment of insurance medical claims by contacting insurance payers and patients by telephone or website.
• Assists with inquiries from outside parties regarding account status.
• Reviews invoices to verify payments and contractual adjustments.
• Resolves all denials and requests for information, including appeals.
• Follows up on outstanding accounts and makes proper notations in Epic system.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Epic system.
- Experience in submitting an appeal for reimbursement.
