Job Title:  Patient Accounts Representative I

Salary Range:  $35,591 - $41,872
FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

We are seeking a Patient Accounts Representative I to join our Claims team. The candidate will expedite and maximize payment of insurance medical claims for errors, denials, or rejected claims by accessing payers websites.

 

The standard and hybrid work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, however there is flexibility for an 8-hour shift between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm.

Job Duties

  • Follows up on error or rejected accounts and makes proper notations (updating insurance information, using correct activity codes) in the Epic system.
  • Analyzes trends, issues, and proposes appropriate action & possible solutions.
  • Independently identifies areas of concern regarding the various areas of the claims process.
  • Analyzes trends and issues and proposes appropriate action to resolve.
  • Consistently exceeds established performance standards.
  • Masters each task to ensure complete understanding.
  • Manually reviews each work queue and works errors to resolution to aid in understanding of future issues.
  • Maintains each work queue to review each invoice date of creation. If over 10 days out, determines why invoice is still there. If there is an issue, obtains information to bring to resolution.
  • Notifies supervisor of trends and issues/problems to determine if any update or change is needed in the system.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of patient registration and insurance coverage.
  • Knowledge of Patient Accounts or Coding.
