Summary

The Patient Business Services - Claims Department is offering a highly motivated Patient Accounts Representative I.

The primary responsibility is to send paper claims to perspective payers, review, research, update payers and fax to perspective payers when applicable.  The ideal candidate will maximize assigned work queues in the Epic system, is knowledgeable in registration, and should understand the Epic system and review A/R follow-up to determine the next process to take.

This is an on-site position.

Job Duties

• Retrieves all paper claims from the Claims printer, sorts paper claims to be mailed, sends certified, distributes claims to different departments for claims processing.
• Reviews, researches, and updates payer addresses for processing.
• Re-prints Medicaid/Medicare/Managed Medicare claims that print with MRAN's for the correct Standard Remittance from BBVA system.
• Works in assigned claims workqueues and maintains an average of 45 accounts per day.  
• Maintains an efficient, accurate operation.
• Analyzes trends, issues, and proposes appropriate action & possible solutions.
• Independently identifies areas of concern regarding the various areas of the claims process.
• Masters each task to ensure complete understanding.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Patient registration experience.
• Knowledge of patient accounts.
