The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a qualified physician to fill a critical role at The Center for Children and Women - Greenspoint location.
Job Duties
Primary responsibilities include providing patient-centered care to women in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- The physician's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provision of prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for low and high-risk women
- Provision of well-woman care, including preventive counseling and contraception
- Assessment, diagnosis and management of gynecologic conditions
- Delivery of patient-centered counseling and anticipatory guidance
- Timely, thorough, and accurate completion of the patient's medical record and associated communication, such as billing and coding
- Actively upholding the education mission of Baylor College of Medicine by teaching and preceptorship learners, including medical students, residents, advanced practice-nursing students, other health professionals, and the general community.
- Engagement in community and population health initiatives as a faculty member in the Division of Population Health
- Supervision of certified nurse midwives and other advanced practice nurses in our practice
- Participation in and active support of Center and hospital committees, including quality and safety initiatives
- Performance of psychosocial assessments to identify emotional, social, educational, and cultural needs
- Maintenance of knowledge base through professional literature and continuing medical education
- Proactive contribution to the mission of The Center through high-quality team-based care, problem-solving, flexibility, and commitment to exceptional patient experience and outcomes
- Performance of other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) OR completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology and eligible to sit for certification with the ABOG.
- Experience: preferred two years' experience in full-service obstetrics/gynecology practice
- Required Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license to practice medicine from the Texas Medical Board
